The board of the North Shore Striders is happy to announce the launch of an Elite Runner Support Program for distance runners who have completed their academic running careers and continue to run competitively. The program will provide support through a tiered system to Upper Midwest male and female elite runners who compete in open and/or age-group divisions in long distance races, and who are willing to join the NSS running club.
“It has been one of our main goals since reviving the Striders at the beginning of 2011 to develop a program that supports our region’s established and up-and-coming elite runners,” says Clint Agar, NSS board president. “By offering this program, it is our hope that we can help as many elite runners as possible reach their fullest potential by providing them with some of the resources necessary to succeed in the sport.”

In addition to the Elite Runner Support Program, the North Shore Striders strives to provide programs that benefit runners of all ages and levels of ability. Currently the club also offers group runs for members every Saturday morning at 8 a.m. During the winter months, the group departs from the Rose Garden on London Road. Other programs are also being developed and will be announced in the near future.
